Do you have a refund policy?
Refund Policy
No refunds are given. So what are the options? We have several ways to go when circumstances may prevent the completion of a package plan:
1) Accept our apology for the situation and an additional 2 lessons on us.
2) Donate your left-over lessons to the Pet Veteran's Fund (this fund gives free lessons to disabled American veterans)
3) Gift the remaining package to a friend or relative. (Friend or relative must live in our service area.)
What happens if the trainer cannot make the appointed time?
The trainer will gladly reschedule a new appointment and offer a free lesson at the end of your package. Please remember that life happens to everyone including our trainer. Medical emergencies do happen. We will make every effort to notify you in advance of any date changes unless the change is a medical emergency and has happened quickly not allowing time for notification.
How much money does it cost for training sessions?

Happy Dog Basic Obedience Fee Schedule
Single Lessons: non-refundable
Per one dog and one handler
Dogs 1 year and older -- $100.00 an hour per one dog and one adult
Dogs between 12 weeks and one year old -- $75.00 per ½ hour per one dog and one adult
Task Training (Advanced Training) -- $100.00 per hour per one dog and one adult
Care Package:
1 dog (adult or puppy), 1/2 hour, every other month -- $50.00 This package is available to clients who have completed a basic package only.
Pre-paid Packages:
Ø Package prices are non-refundable
Ø Cancellation of appointments by the client are allowed for sickness, medical emergencies, and life events. We will reschedule the appointment with you twice in the life of the package.
CANINE GOOD CITIZEN: non-refundable
The Canine Good Citizen program is sponsored by the American Kennel Club and our trainer is certified with the American Kennel Club to evaluate dogs for both the S.T.A.R. Puppy Program and for the Canine Good Citizen program. We have two packages depending on the need of the client.
CGC/STAR -- Test only: $50.00
CGC/STAR with training and test: $200.00 (Dog or puppy must have completed a basic training package with us.
ADVANCED PACKAGE A: non-refundable
This package is based on 1 hour sessions: This is an advanced course that covers task training, and agility.
Dogs over one year old (1 hour lesson with one dog and one handler) -- 5 lessons prepaid with 1 maintenance visit (client decides weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) -- $400.00 **
INTERMEDIATE PACKAGE B: non-refundable
This package is based on 1 hour sessions:
Dogs 1 year old (1 hour lesson with one dog and one handler) – 5 lessons prepaid with 1 maintenance visit (client decides weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) -- $350.00 **
BASIC PACKAGE C: non-refundable
This package is based on 1/2 hour sessions:
Dogs between 12 weeks to 1 year old – 5 lessons prepaid (client decides weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) -- $250.00
TASK Training (for dogs preparing for therapy and service) Please ask about the program and the pricing.
Do you offer any discounts?
Military (includes Civil Air Patrol and the U.S. Coast Guard)
Yes. We offer a 15% discount to all military personnel, to all veterans. PLUS, we have scholarships for any veteran who is disabled.
In addition to the military, we offer the same discount to all of the following:
Emergency Services Personnel (SAR, Police, Fire fighters, Nurses, Doctors, retired or active). We are proud to support these public servants with a 15% discount. Simply show our trainer proof of your affiliation with an emergency organization, and the trainer will extend the discount to you for your lessons.
And,
Senior Citizens over the age of 60
A 15% discount will be applied if you are over 60
What are your training hours and availability?
By Phone: Monday to Saturday 7AM to 7PM
By appointment: Trainers' schedules fill up quickly and we advise you to schedule as soon as possible by calling 559-369-6466. Trainers do accept appointments in the evening as long as there is a well lit area to work within during the scheduled time.
Training days are Thursday, Friday and Saturdays.
How many training sessions will it take?
Our one hour in-home training sessions are on a “session by session” basis and there is no specific amount of sessions your dog may need. The average amount of sessions for a puppy to obtain all the basics is about 5-6 sessions. Puppy Packages are based on 1/2 hour lesson to accommodate a younger dog's attention span. However, the more sessions you commit to, the better your results will be.
Where are your training sessions held?
The training sessions take place in your home, front/backyard and/or local park.
Who can be involved in the training sessions?
We strongly recommend that anyone in the family, and household who handles the dog should be included.
Do you accept internships for students?
Unfortunately, at this time, we are not offering any internships.
Do you work with service dogs?
Yes, we do work with those who desire a service dog and who qualify for a dog under California State Law and United States Federal Law. Dawn is an American Kennel Club Evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen award. This award shows that a dog is well-trained and non-reactive to many situations. Dawn has a service dog who accompanies her everywhere. Her dog has over 1000 hours of specialized training. Dawn trained her dog with the help of two other trainers. Call us to find out more.

Yes. Dawn is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and the International Association of Assistance Dog
Partners, plus an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. She is pursuing classes in animal behavior especially dogs to receive her certification in professional dog training!
